Which degree suits your child?

At Zwemschool Amsterdam , as a parent, you get to choose which swimming certificate your child obtains.

Will you choose the classic ABC diploma or the EasySwim diploma? During the learning line, as a parent, you get to choose your own diploma. In principle, all children follow the learning line for the International Swimming ABC, but when a child swims in the last pool for the A diploma, you as a parent can choose to make the step to the EasySwim diploma. For both the ABC diploma and EasySwim diploma, Zwemschool Amsterdam has the approvals to issue these official swimming diplomas.

What degree do I want?

At Zwemschool Amsterdam , children earn the International Swimming ABC or EasySwim diploma. These diplomas perfectly match our teaching method and combine high swimming safety with plenty of swimming fun.

The classic Swimming ABC consists of 3 diplomas; A (basic skills), B (more endurance) and C (swimming skill and safety).

The EasySwim Diploma is 1 diploma which is roughly equivalent to the C-level. Thus, you swim only when a child is actually proficient and safe in swimming.

What is best for children

If you are wondering what is best for my child? Then we can only give one answer; after obtaining any diploma whatsoever; keep on swimming! Being able to swim well does not stop at graduation.

Where the B diploma used to seem like enough, that has long since ceased to be the case. It's called the Swimming ABC for a reason. A diploma stands for mastering swimming techniques, at the B diploma you swim these techniques at longer distances, and only at the C diploma (or the EasySwim diploma) does a child actually learn to become proficient and safe swimmers.

In this last phase, practical items are practiced which you can also master only when you know the basics well and have the stamina. For example; what should I do if I fall off a boat. Or how do I keep myself warm when I hit the water. We also practice when you end up underwater without breath. We make children comfortable and confident in plight swimming situations. This way they are ready to brave those swimming pools and beaches!
